How to choose a website for your small business
Landing page, business website or online store? Start with what customers need to do, then choose the scope.
Start with one customer action
Write down the main action you want someone to take: send an enquiry, book a visit or buy a product. A clear action helps you decide which pages and tools belong in the first version.
Choose a landing page for one offer
A landing page suits a single service, launch or campaign. It needs a clear offer, examples of your work, answers to common concerns and an easy way to contact you. If you have several services with different audiences, a single page may become crowded.
Choose a business website for several services
A business website gives each service space of its own. Plan your home, services, work, about and contact pages around questions customers actually ask. Discuss who supplies the writing and photos before agreeing to a quote.
Choose an online store when customers need to buy
An online store needs more than product pictures. Agree on product options, payments, delivery rules, order emails and who will maintain the catalogue. Hosting, payment processing and other ongoing costs should be explained separately from the design quote.
Ask for a written scope, not just a price
List the pages, integrations, revision rounds and handover requirements. At Pixelpaper Studio we talk first and provide a written quote. Extra pages, custom animation or a second language change the scope, so a starting price is not a promise to include everything.
